About Aréna
Paris-based producer and keyboardist Jonathan Aréna plays keys and synth for the Parisian hip-hop jazz group Underground Canopy, and has also worked with the Berlin artists Bluestaeb (Jakarta Records), S. Fidelity (Jakarta records), and Midori (MENACE). Under his actual name/moniker ARÉNA has been making minimalist, cosmic beats since the early 2000’s. Trained in classical music since childhood before evolving into a more soulful groove, Aréna's style is steeped in the modern schools of J Dilla, Flying Lotus, DJ Harrison and MNDSGN, and the constellation of his passions for jazz fusion, 90s R&B, gospel, and traditional Malagasy music.
