About Alfredo Domínguez
Cesar Alfredo Dominguez Romero, considered the best folklore musician of his generation, was a bolivian artist born in Tupiza, July 9th 1938, who died in Switzerland on January 28th 1980. Aknowledged as one of the leading composers and interpreters of bolivian native music, Dominguez played with the legendary bolivian folk supergroup Los Jairas and also lead a remarcable solo career, whose highlight is the conceptual composition-album "Vida, pasion y muerte de Juan Cutipa" ("Life, passion and death of Juan Cutipa"). Alfredo Dominguez also worked as a painter and participated in several major plastic arts exposition all over the world, yet his contribution to guitar playing and folk musicianship (developing a highly innovative, as well as undoubtly rooted in his humble origins, style)are yet unmatched in his beloved Bolivia.
