The Music? They create alternative rock which simultaneously yields both stylish intelligence and sheer aggression. With their infectious riffs, rock solid rhythm, and astonishing vocals, A Thousand Cures is definitely a band capable of reaching superstar status. The Band? It was the in the year 2000 that a matter of fate brought vocalist Paul Macri and drummer Luca Caracciolo together when they literally bumped into each other while walking down Queen St. in downtown Toronto. While helping Luca up from his fall, Paul noticed the drum sticks in Luca’s jacket, allowing them to realize they were both musicians. They got together the following week and instantly knew they had found something special. The two spent the next two years searching the city for the perfect musicians to complete the group. Finally, after sifting through dozens of guitarists and bassists, they found the members that will unquestionably take the band to the top. At the beginning of 2003, The band began playing shows and instantly knew they had something special, and A Thousand Cures emerged as one of the most talented, creative, and ambitious bands in Toronto. As frequent headliners at venues such as Club 279 and Lee’s Palace in Toronto, the band became well known for consistently drawing large crowds and delivering high-energy performances. Their debut recording “The White Top EP” immediately created a huge buzz around the city. In January of 2006, the band’s hard work and talent was recognized as they were chosen Q107 out of hundreds of bands to open for one of the most popular rock bands on the planet: BON JOVI!!! And on January 21st, A Thousand Cures delivered an incredible performance in front of over 20,000 people at the Air Canada Center which drew enormous praise from the crowd, as well as Bon Jovi themselves! A Thousand Cures has all of the required elements to achieve superstar status. This band WILL make an impact. Influences? Velvet Revolver, Incubus, The Killers, Stone Temple Pilots, Jet, The Police, U2, and Led Zeppelin to name a few. However, the band draws inspiration from everywhere, even the most unlikely places!
